Debbie Berk Management/Executive Recruiter

Debbie started her career in the hospitality industry waiting tables at the age of 15. Upon graduation from high school and through college she was employed by McDonald’s Corporation working her way up from an hourly employee to swing manager. In 1994, Debbie graduated from the University of Houston with a BS in Hospitality Management and soon after joined Boston Market as an HR Administrative Assistant. She was promoted to Regional Recruiter in 1996 and has spent the last 15 years recruiting for both operations and corporate positions in the Restaurant and IT Industries. Her tenure includes companies such as Landry’s Seafood Restaurants, Steak & Ale, Synavant Software, Brinker International, Texas Land and Cattle, Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon and Starbucks Coffee Company. During her time at Starbucks, Debbie was the recipient of the Company’s highest honor, “The Spirit of Starbucks Award” for “exceeding the team’s expectations and goals...” and received a Bravo Award for “untiring efforts and continued dedication to staffing needs...” Debbie has spent her career focused on sourcing and hiring outstanding candidates and helping them to develop and discover their potential. In doing so she has created an environment to “WOW” the guest and provide a service and atmosphere that creates repeat business. She is very passionate about recruiting and encompasses the values and principles of integrity, honesty and treating everyone with respect and dignity in every assignment. Debbie’s other interests include photography and animals. Debbie is the proud owner of two Golden Retrievers that she adopted from rescue organizations. She has volunteered on weekends at the Canine Companions for Independence facility in Orlando, FL and helped out with Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas. Her vacation time is spent taking photos of landscapes and wildlife (preferable in Alaska!).
